Ways you can help
Find out how you can link arms and lives for a flourishing community.
Micro-grants
The next round of micro-grant applications is open and due February 28, 2023.
Consider an idea that would benefit our entire Walnut Neighborhood and write out your plan on the form. You can ask for up to $500, and you'll need to show the cost of your project on the form. Grants will be awarded by March 14, and projects will need to be completed by June 14, 2023. If you need help applying, the micro-grants team is willing to help you! Fill out the contact form for assistance. Completed micro-grant forms can go in the mail slot at 335 Almond St.
Youth Leadership Team
If you are an adult that would like to help with the Youth Leadership Team's projects in 2023, fill out the contact form. The Youth Leadership Team is focusing on the Birthday Box Project and painting tree yard signs this summer. We'd love for you to link arms with the team and these projects!
Activities Team
If you would like to serve on the neighborhood's activities team, we would love your participation! This team plans our neighborhood's annual activities such as Miracle of Marigolds, National Neighborhood Night Out party, potlucks, Christmas caroling, neighborhood clean ups, and more. Fill out the contact form if interested and you'd like to learn more.
Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity
Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity is a valued partner of the Walnut Neighborhood. They are always looking for new people who want to serve and support their mission through volunteering.
Media, Photo, & Blog
If you are a neighborhood resident or partner and you'd like to contribute to the blog, fill out the contact form, and we'll be in touch with you!
A note about Link CCD and faith
Though Link CCD is a faith-rooted organization, Link will not proselytize. This means that Link will not expect participation on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith. Some of Link’s offerings within its Learning Communities focus may be directed toward spiritual growth and well-being, but this will be made known in the description.
Link has an open-door policy: All who desire to create a flourishing community are welcome to get involved and support our mission regardless of income, race, religion, age, gender, sexuality, politics, or any other distinctions that tend to cause division.
